Sylvania



Sylvania is a brand manufactured by Funai Electronics Corporation. Funai was established in 1961 in Osaka, Japan. Funai manufactures communication equipments, computer peripherals, A/V devices, televisions, DVD players, and home appliances. Sylvania brand electronics are sold almost exclusively to Wal-Mart which account for 30% of the company’s net income. As of 2009, Funai has agreed to manufacture all of Phillips and Magnavox flat-panel TVs.

ylvania brand is targeted for the budget minded consumers. They usually offer very basic functions and relatively low prices. The Sylvania Blu-ray players offer fairly good picture for the price. Funai also manufactures Blu-ray players for Denon Corporation.
