Founded in 1918, Panasonic is the largest consumer electronics producer in Japan. Formerly known as Matsushita Electric Industrial, Panasonic has developed into one of the leading brand in consumer electronics. Panasonic cut their teeth on producing television set before branching into many other consumer electronics. Panasonic was one of the biggest manufacturers of analog television sets. Panasonic has since moved into digital television sets.

Panasonic is one of the founding member of Blu-ray Disc Association. As such, Panasonic has been heavily involved in Blu-ray development. They have contributed greatly in establishing the format with early introduction of standalone Blu-ray disc players. Panasonic continues to update their Blu-ray player with latest Profile and audio compatibility. They offer wide range of players in almost every price segment.
