Denon

Denon started off as an audio specialist in 1910. They produced a single-sided disc records and gramophones. Today, Denon is recognized for producing high end audio equipments for consumers and professionals. Denon is most recognized for their high end A/V receivers that cater to home theater enthusiasts. In 2002, Denon merged with Marantz who also specialize in high end audio equipments.
Denon moved into consumer Blu-ray disc player market with high end models with professional grade audio components. At the same time, the Blu-ray players from Denon support wide variety of audio formats without the use of A/V receivers. As they target the audiophile and videophile segments, the Denon players tend to command premium price. Marantz offer similar line of product as Denon focusing on the high end market.
